There are no televisions at Old Joe's Kaia. Wi-Fi reaches the main building and no further. This is by design.
The best things to do here are the simplest: walk barefoot through the garden, watch the birds, sit with a book under a marula tree. Old Joe's Kaia sits on 3.5 hectares of indigenous gardens in the Schoemanskloof Valley — a place where the pace of the day is set by the sun, not a screen.

The Schoemanskloof Valley is part of Mpumalanga's exceptional biodiversity corridor. Bring binoculars — or borrow ours — and explore from the garden or the surrounding bush.
7-Circuit Labyrinth
A walking meditation in the garden. The labyrinth isn't a maze — there's one path in and one path out. Walk slowly, breathe, arrive. Open to all guests at any time.

A garden pool surrounded by indigenous trees — the kind of swimming that comes with birdsong and dappled shade rather than a poolside bar.

Recently upgraded with a curated collection. Find a corner, pour a cup of rooibos, and read without checking your phone. Wi-Fi doesn't reach here — on purpose.
